Tribal Organizations to Organize ‘Tribal Rally’ on Mar 28


Hamren, Mar 20: More than 25 tribal organizations will organize tribal rally from 5th Mile Chutianala to Diphu on March 28 where thousands of tribals from across the district are expected to participate in the said rally to demand on their safety through the provision of Sixth Schedule to the constitution of India.

Organizations which include United Karbi Students Association (UKSA), NNKRAA, SSIC, KARAA, Rengma Naga Students Union (RNSU), Dimasa Students’ Union (DSU), Kuki National Assembly (KNA), Karbi Farmers’ Association (KFA), Karbi Students & Youth Assembly (KSYA), PFP, KASDO, UHDO, KAHTSCA, Greater Guwahati Karbi Students’ Association (GGKSA), Nagaon Karbi Students’ Association (NKSA),
Tezpur Karbi Students’ Association (TKSA), LKSA, SKSA, GKSA, JKSA, DKSA, Bangalore Karbi Society and KSA from Biswanath Chariali will come together to demand on preparation of ‘electoral roll’ as per Paragraph 20 of the Sixth Schedule of India.

The organizations also will demand the elected members of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) to make rules for its constitution under Paragraph 2 sub-Paragraph 7 of the Sixth Schedule to the constitution of India and to strengthen traditional village council under Paragraph 4 of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India.
