The Greater Guwahati Karbi Students’ Association (GGKSA) appealed all the people of Karbi Anglong irrespective of caste, creed, tribe, community and religion to observe the death anniversary of Ru Semson Sing Ingti, founder of Karbi Anglong on February 28.
Requesting the people to observe the event by lighting candles at their home in the evening, the GGKSA also appealed the KAAC authority to observe the event in a colourful and solemnity and also to strictly enforce the event to all shops, market places, offices, schools etc. in the district.
“We should learn to observe the event and give respect to him by celebrating it in a very solemn way since he is the architect and founder of Karbi Anglong. Observing the death anniversary and paying tribute to the great soul is not only for the Karbis but other tribes and communities living in the district and appeal everyone to observe the day by lighting candles,” GGKSA stated.
